China has dispatched an additional batch of 32,000 disaster relief items to northwestern Shaanxi province to help the region cope with the impact of heavy rains and flooding in recent days, the Ministry of Emergency Management said on Friday.
The aid supplies include tents, site lighting lamps, folding beds, folding tables and chairs, raincoats and rain boots, and household emergency kits, and will be used to support local authorities in carrying out the emergency transfer and resettlement of affected people, as well as other disaster relief efforts.
The supplies were allocated by the office of the National Commission for Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration.
Previously, 65,000 relief items had already been delivered to the region.
