The death toll from a mudslide in Zhashui county, Shangluo, Shaanxi province, has risen to three after the last missing person was found and confirmed dead on Saturday, local authorities said.
The mudslide occurred on Wednesday in Xingping township, as residents of one household were clearing accumulated water near their home following days of persistent heavy rainfall.
As of Saturday afternoon, all three missing individuals have been found and confirmed dead, authorities said.
The city of Shangluo has experienced nine rounds of heavy rainfall and severe convective weather since the start of this year's flood season, officials said. The heavy downpour on Wednesday affected nearly all areas of Zhen'an and Zhashui counties.
Local health and epidemic prevention workers have launched comprehensive disinfection and disease control efforts, while authorities are making arrangements to support the bereaved families.
