At least 20 killed in tanker crash in Central African Republic

YAOUNDE -- At least 20 people were killed and several others injured Friday evening when a diesel tanker overturned southwest of Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.

Witnesses at the scene said the speeding truck lost control, overturned and struck several pedestrians, causing extensive damage.

Officials have not confirmed a final death toll, but the provisional toll stood at 20, with several others injured and taken to hospitals in Bangui for treatment.
