China congratulates Cook Islands PM

China extended congratulations on Friday to Prime Minister of the Cook Islands Mark Brown on winning another term in office.

China's Foreign Ministry expressed the country's readiness to further deepen political mutual trust and expand practical cooperation with the South Pacific nation.

China highly values its relations with the Cook Islands and is willing to work with the new government to strive for greater progress of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries featuring mutual respect and common development, so as to deliver more benefits to the two peoples, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian told a regular news conference.
