Schools across Yunbiao township of Hengzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, reopened as scheduled on Monday after enduring severe flood damage, marking the start of the new fall semester.
A torrential downpour on July 6 caused widespread flooding across the area, leaving several school facilities damaged.
Liulan Village Primary School's campus was torn down to make way for full reconstruction. Its faculty and students were temporarily relocated to nearby Luocun Village Primary School. The two schools held a joint flag‑raising ceremony and celebratory "first‑lesson" events to kick off the new school year.
