Yang Xingpeng, general manager of Heilongjiang Haipeng Goose Industry Development Co, said, "We began looking at Bei'an in March 2025, and construction of these projects followed gradually. Once the industrial park hits full production, we expect its output value to reach around 700 million yuan. Our next step is to further extend and strengthen the existing industrial chain, and we hope the total output value will exceed 1 billion yuan by the end of 2026."

The local government in Bei'an has attracted leading companies in slaughtering, cutting and cold storage, goose-down sorting, badminton manufacturing, apparel and home furnishings, and goose-product processing through investment promotion.

Yang said the company was highly satisfied with the city's investment and business environments. He added that the severe cold climate of Heilongjiang produces goose feathers and down of widely recognized quality. Under normal circumstances, goose-down clusters produced in the region are larger than those from southern China, giving them greater loft and stronger thermal insulation. This is also one of the reasons why the company chose to establish production operations in Bei'an.

One example is a type of goose down known as "Heilongjiang 98 percent white goose extra-large cluster". The down is collected from the abdomen of Sanhua geese and Hortobagyi geese raised in Heilongjiang. It takes the down from around 30 geese to produce 500 grams of this high-grade abdominal down. The material then undergoes a special extraction process to achieve the current grade. Its current retail price is as high as 1.9 million yuan to 2 million yuan per metric ton, and it is mainly used for high-end customized products and certain luxury goods, Yang said.
