China-ASEAN entrepreneurs summit held in Cambodia

Organized by the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation and co-organized by the Cambodia National Federation of Trade and Investment Promotion Associations, the summit brought together nearly 300 representatives from government, think tanks and businesses across China and Cambodia, in sectors including new energy, advanced manufacturing, healthcare and digital economy.

The event explored industrial chain synergy and practical economic and trade cooperation, sending a strong signal of deepening China-ASEAN and China-Cambodia two-way collaboration.

Ahead of the summit, on Monday, Sun Chanthol, Cambodia's deputy prime minister, met with the Chinese delegation of entrepreneurs for discussions.

Sun Chanthol acknowledged the significant contribution of Chinese enterprises to Cambodia's economic development, provided a detailed overview of Cambodia's investment policies and development plans, and listened to proposals from Chinese entrepreneurs.

Discussions covered industrial implementation, supply chain layout and capital market connectivity.

At the summit's opening ceremony, Chea Vuthy, secretary-general of the Cambodian Investment Board at the Council for the Development of Cambodia, said Cambodia is continuously improving its business environment and welcomes Chinese enterprises to seize the dividends of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and the China-Cambodia Free Trade Agreement, and to participate in Cambodia's industrial upgrading, infrastructure development and capital market growth. He added that all Cambodian government departments would provide full policy support and administrative services to foreign investors.

Wang Boyong, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, said Cambodia is one of China's fastest-growing economic and trade partners in Southeast Asia, with bilateral trade growing by 29.9 percent year-on-year in 2025, outpacing China's overall trade growth with ASEAN. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, the two sides have proposed the building of a new-era, all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future, with the Belt and Road Initiative closely aligned with Cambodia's Pentagonal Strategy.

Tony Dong, chief representative of the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation, said ASEAN has been China's largest trading partner for a number of years, and that China and Cambodia are "ironclad friends".

Against the backdrop of a restructuring global trade landscape, Cambodia, with its demographic dividend, open investment policies and unique geographical advantages, is emerging as a key hub for Chinese enterprises to build resilient supply chains and expand into the ASEAN market, Dong added.
