Deadly mudslide kills 3 in Jiangxi

The death toll from a mudslide in Suichuan county, Ji'an, Jiangxi province, rose to three after another missing person was found dead at noon on Sunday, China Central Television reported.
Nine people remain missing following the disaster, which hit Mingkeng village in Gaoping town at 4 am on Saturday due to heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Saudel.
As of 10 pm on Saturday, 641 search and rescue personnel had been deployed to the site, and more than 5,000 residents were relocated to safety.
Roads inside the village have mostly reopened, and communication signals have been restored. Local residents are guaranteed access to water, electricity, food and temporary accommodation, CCTV reported.
As of 4 pm on Saturday, Typhoon Saudel had affected 183,600 people in Jiangxi, causing direct economic losses of 343 million yuan ($51.1 million), according to the emergency management authorities.
