Inner Mongolia's main celebration of the 2026 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival opened in Wuyuan county, Bayannuur city, on Sept 8, kicking off a series of events celebrating the region's agricultural achievements and the harvest season.

The three-day event offers a range of activities, including a showcase of Inner Mongolia's beef and mutton brands, agricultural and pastoral product exhibitions, specialty food fairs, folk markets, and displays of intangible cultural heritage.

A highlight is the beef and mutton promotion event, which includes competitions and tasting sessions led by professional judges and industry representatives, showcasing the quality and distinctive qualities of Inner Mongolia's livestock products.

The celebration also highlights advances in modern agriculture, improved rural living conditions, and the development of quality livestock breeds. Online and offline sales events, including livestreams to promote agricultural products, are being held to expand sales channels and boost farmers' and herders' incomes.

Cultural and recreational activities, such as folk performances, agricultural skill competitions, and a mass walking event, are also underway, creating a festive atmosphere for communities to celebrate the harvest and rural vitalization.
