China extends anti-dumping probe into pecan imports from US, Mexico

China has extended its anti-dumping investigation into pecan imports originating in Mexico and the United States to March 25, 2027, the Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday.

The ministry said in an online statement that the extension was made due to the complexity of the case and in accordance with China's anti-dumping regulations.

The investigation into imported pecans originating in Mexico and the US was launched on Sept 25, 2025, according to the ministry.

The ministry preliminarily found that pecan imports from Mexico and the US were being dumped in the Chinese market, causing material injury to China's domestic pecan industry, and that there was a causal link between the dumping and the material injury.

China subsequently imposed provisional anti-dumping measures in the form of security deposits on Aug 11, requiring importers of the products under investigation to provide deposits to Chinese customs at rates specified for individual companies.
