Alshaa named 'World Camel Milk Capital' at intl conference

The industry is underpinned by the league's Bactrian camel resources, which have adapted to the arid conditions and natural forage of the Gobi and desert areas. Alshaa camel milk is characterized by its relatively high protein and fat content, small fat particles, and a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids.

Supported by the Inner Mongolia Camel Research Institute, Alshaa Right Banner has developed an integrated industrial chain covering camel breeding, research, processing, and marketing. Five major product categories – camel milk, camel wool, camel meat, cosmetics, and leisure foods – now include 136 products.

The industry has also continued to expand in scale. Alshaa Right Banner now has more than 82,000 Bactrian camels. In 2025, the banner produced more than 15,000 metric tons of camel milk, while the total output value of its camel industry exceeded 2.5 billion yuan ($373.13 million).
