Mexico's FM: Bilateral friendship writes a new chapter in Chongqing

China-Mexico relations have steadily deepened over 54 years of diplomatic ties, Mexican Foreign Minister Roberto Velasco Alvarez said at the inauguration of the Mexican consulate in Chongqing on Sept 7.

"Chongqing is a city that represents, in an exceptional way, the energy, transformative capacity, innovation, and forward-looking vision of contemporary China," he said.

Velasco said he believes the new consulate will serve as a home for Mexican citizens in Chongqing and a bridge connecting the two people.
