"The moon shines brightest at Mid-Autumn. Brighter still. Who knows how many times it has waxed and waned?" Lucy Hirst, a student at University College London, recites lines from The Mid-Autumn Moon by Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) poet Xu Youzhen. As the full moon rises over the Thames, Chinese verses written some 500 years ago find a youthful voice in the United Kingdom.

Mid-Autumn in Poetry is a global call inviting poetry lovers worldwide to share video recitations. Organized by Chinaculture.org and China Daily Website, the event aims to foster cultural exchange and understanding.
