BRI project wins multiple sustainable development awards in Indonesia

A landmark project of cooperation between China and Indonesia under the Belt and Road Initiative framework — which has attracted over 60,000 Indonesian employees — won multiple national Corporate Social Responsibility awards in Indonesia for local sustainable development.
Since its inception in 2013, the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park has harnessed the region's abundant nickel reserves to grow into a large integrated industrial cluster, attracting a total investment of some $35 billion from enterprises in China, Australia, Singapore, and Indonesia — generating nearly 100,000 direct jobs.
On Sept 29, the 2026 Indonesia CSR Awards and Indonesia Sustainable Development Goals Awards ceremony — organized by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development — was held in Jakarta. IMIP won five awards for its continued efforts in education, healthcare, environmental management, and agricultural development.
