Tianjin University hosts first AI+Synthetic Biology competition final

The final of the inaugural AI+Synthetic Biology Innovation Competition (2026 season) wrapped up on Friday at Tianjin University.
Backed by the Ministry of Education's Fundamental and Interdisciplinary Disciplines Breakthrough Plan, the event drew top student teams nationwide to advance the integration of AI and synthetic biology.
Twenty-one finalist teams from leading universities, including Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, competed across five tracks covering healthcare, agriculture-environment, industrial biomanufacturing, data-driven basic science and virtual cells.
