Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng held a video call with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Friday, according to information released by the Ministry of Commerce on Saturday.
He, also China's lead representative for China-US economic and trade affairs, held candid, in-depth, and constructive discussions with US officials on major economic and trade issues of mutual concern, focusing on implementing the consensus reached by their heads of state during the meetings in Beijing and Washington, as well as the outcomes of bilateral economic and trade consultations.
During the talks, the Chinese side expressed serious concerns over recent US economic and trade restrictions targeting China.
Both sides agreed to continue making effective use of the bilateral economic and trade consultation mechanism under the strategic guidance of their heads of state, deepen cooperation, and properly manage differences.
They also agreed to promote sustained, stable, and positive development of bilateral economic and trade relations, contributing to a constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability based on respect, fairness, and reciprocity.
