A dance troupe from the Baishun Community, which belongs to the Dashilar District and has a long history and deep relation with Peking Opera, gave a performance at the beginning of the ceremony.
One of the dancers said they recomposed the dance from the Tang Concubines, a great Peking Opera piece, and practiced for two months to give the audience an enjoyable show.

A staff member from Dashilar District said the Baishun Community is promoting the opera to more and more people, particularly the younger generation who are now showing great interest in this art.

The launch of the Landmark Stone Square in the Baishun Community aims to promote the history and charm of Peking Opera and it will become a Peking Opera education base and a platform for opera amateurs to exchange.
A senior who has lived in the community for 58 years said although she can always hear the beautiful Peking Opera at the square, she never knew this was the place where Peking Opera was born. The ceremony allowed her to know more about the art she has loved for so many years.
