The 245-meter-long Baishun Hutong was home to the opera troupes from Anhui province when they first came to Beijing in the Qing Dynasty. Their arrival was a milestone for the formation of Peking Opera. Since then, the hutong became the training epicenter for professional opera and a gathering place for many renowned opera actors and actresses.
