The Forum on Internet Media of China is the country's most high-profile, authoritative, and professional forum in the field.

Guided by the Cyberspace Administration of China, the forum is co-hosted by All-China Journalists Association and major national and regional news websites. This year the forum will be held in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, from July 16 to 18, undertaken by China Daily website and Zhanjiang government.

Since 2001, topics of the annual forum set the new trends for the Internet media of China every year. As a developed platform for the exchange and cooperation among government, industries and academia, the forum has been steadily driving the rapid and sound growth of the country's Internet sector.

Since 2013, the CPC Central Committee, with Xi Jinping as the general secretary, has put forth the Belt and Road Initiative and the "Cyperpower" strategy.

With these in mind, this year's forum, whose theme is "E-path to One Belt, One Road", is set to brainstorm on the following issues: how online media can better take part in building "One Belt and One Road", and what kind of roles the media convergence and technological innovations play in conveying the Silk Road spirit to the world, while pushing forward the Belt and Road Initiative in the "New Normal".
