Chinese shares close up 1.06%

Chinese equities rose with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.06 percent, or 34.39 points, to close at 3,269.75 Wednesday.

The Shenzhen Component Index increased 0.86 percent, or 118.34 points, to close at 13,800.50.

Combined turnover jumped to 336.68 billion yuan ($49.29 billion) from 310.95 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 672 to 189 in Shanghai and 625 to 171 in Shenzhen.
