China is willing to shoulder more responsibility and play a greater role in maintaining international peace and security, promoting world economic growth and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries, a spokesman for the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said on Tuesday.

Tuo Zhen made the comments when asked about the community of shared destiny for all mankind concept proposed by President Xi Jinping and China's plan to promote economic globalization and global economic governance.

The spokesman noted China's role as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, as well as the world's second largest economy and the largest developing country.

Tuo said the community of shared destiny for all mankind has been widely recognized and welcomed by the international community, and it has been written into a number of United Nations documents and has become an international consensus.

So far, China has established various forms of partnership with about 100 countries, regions and regional organizations, and China's "friends circle" has become larger, Tuo noted.

China is an active participant in and contributor of global economic governance, and it should continue to actively promote the buildup of an open and inclusive world economy, and make the economic globalization developing the direction of being open, inclusive, benefiting all, and win-win, Tuo said.

China will actively promote the reform of the global economic governance mechanism and boost the say and representativeness of emerging markets and developing countries, Tuo added.
