Three people died and around 60 were injured in a train collision at about 2:40 am Monday in Chenzhou, Hunan province, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
The identities of the victims were not immediately known and the injured people were hospitalized at local hospitals. The reason of the collision is also under investigation. Minister of Railway Liu Zhijun has led a rescue and investigation team to the site, Xinhua reported. Liu just got a demerit punishment one month ago for a train crash accident last year in Shandong province, in which 72 people died. Local media said the traffic of the Beijing-Guangzhou railway, the north-south railway backbone in China, was not interrupted. |
