Updated: 2009-08-03 14:09 The Ministry of Education has issued an urgent notice Sunday night to schools across the country requiring them cancel all summer holiday activities if the local education authorities deem it necessary to prevent the spread of the H1N1 virus among students, the Beijing News reported today.
Several camps have already been closed because of the H1N1 virus, including a military-oriented summer camp in Beijing, where 36 students were confirmed to have been infected on July 25. Another seven children from a summer camp organized by the China Children Press Publication Group in Beijing have also been reported to be H1N1 positive, and in Guangzhou, 22 out of 118 students in a summer camp tested positive for the H1N1 virus on July 15. Summer holidays begin in July in China. |
