A visitor from Hong Kong received a gift pack from the Taipei Pavilion in the Urban Best Practices Area as the 300,000th visitor to the pavilion on July 19, 2010.
The gifts for Yang Jiayi, the star visitor, included electronic books and tourism coupons to the Taipei International Flora Expo.
The 14-year-girl was with her teacher and 18 classmates to the Expo. She was interested in the topic of environmental protection, therefore, the pavilion was on her agenda. The girl hoped to visit Taipei in the future.
The pavilion incorporates exhibitions on a wireless city and garbage recycling. It is divided into several areas, including a huge three-dimensional theater where visitors can have a virtual tour of "tomorrow's Taipei" via short movies and light-and-sound shows.
It receives about 4,000 visitors a day. About 76 visitors are allowed each time to ensure the best effect when visitors watch short movies.
