More than 1,000 students had the same set of breakfast at the Babu Township Primary School in Zhijin county of Bijie city. But 70 out of them felt nausea and some vomited, said an official with the city's health bureau.
Health experts suspected that milk in the breakfast set might have been the cause, said the official who asked not to be named.
The 70 students were all sent to hospital for treatment. As of Thursday afternoon, 10 remain hospitalized but none is in critical condition.
Authorities are investigating into the incident.
