Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao attended the China-Eurasia Expo Opening Ceremony and the Eurasia Economic Development Cooperation Forum and delivered a speech at 4:00 pm on Sept 2, 2012 in Urumqi, Xinjiang.
Premier Wen Jiabao firstly welcomed Kyrgyz President Akayev, Maldives President Wahid, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Prime Minister Massimov of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan Prime Minister Akilov, nearly 90 dignitaries from Asian and European countries and international organizations and more than 1,000 Chinese and foreign guests for their arrival, He also expressed warm congratulations on the convening of the exposition and economic development cooperation forum on behalf of the Chinese government, and paid high tribute to people from all walks of life committed to cooperation with the Asian and European countries.
In his speech, Premier Wen proposed four hopes: first, strengthen political mutual trust and maintain regional peace and stability. Second, expand market opening and promote common development. Third, promote cross-border regional cooperation and speed up the process of interconnection. Four, deepen cultural exchanges and enhance friendship of the people of all countries.
Finally, he wished the Second China-Eurasia Expo and Eurasia Economic Development and Cooperation Forum a complete success.
