A resident of Anhui province won the top prize of 102 million yuan ($16.4 million) in the sports lottery, cnr.cn reported on Dec 10.
China Sports Lottery Management Center confirmed that the lucky person was in the province's Bengbu city and bought the lottery with 36 yuan on Dec 8 and won the top prize.
According to Zhang Qinghai, who sold the lucky ticket, the winner often bought lottery tickets at his station, buying about a dozen each time.
It was the first top prize in Anhui's sports lottery history and the fourth in China's sports lottery. The top prize of 256 million yuan ($41.1 million) was won by a resident in Jiangsu province on June 27.
