China-GCC forum visit begins at school

ABU DHABI - Wang Zhizhen, vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Committee, arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Dec 10, 2012, for the upcoming China-GCC forum.

Wang is scheduled to meet with some senior officials of UAE during her visit for the GCC-China Sustainable Development Forum, which will begin on Dec 12, 2012.

After her arrival, Wang, also of the Chinese Academy of Science, China's top scientific research institute, paid a special visit to the Université Paris-Sorbonne Abu Dhabi – a French-speaking campus, accompanied by UAE's ambassador to China, Omar Al Bitar.

During the exchange with local students, the vice-chairwoman and scientist extended a sincere invitation to them to go study in China.

Wang also met a Chinese student named Song Xibing, who is studying at the university, while visiting the school canteen. She asked questions about the young student’s studies and life in the city and said she expected that Song would play a more active role in promoting mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and UAE’s students.

During the campus visit, Wang stopped at the library, indoor stadium, gymnasium, canteen and the main teaching building.
