The country's top auditor has vowed to keep a close watch on funds related to people's livelihoods, according to a statement issued on Monday.
Auditing agencies nationwide have paid much attention to some key projects, such as funds for earthquake relief efforts. However, many small-scale projects involving people's livelihoods lack supervision, the National Audit Office said in a statement.
Funds for agricultural water projects, social support fees and poverty-reduction money will be closely monitored by auditing authorities, the statement said.
The auditors will make the people's interests a top priority and implement the "mass line campaign" that has been put forward by the ruling Communist Party of China Central Committee, according to the statement.
