BEIJING - Leaders and parliament speakers of foreign countries have sent congratulatory messages to Zhang Dejiang on his election as chairman of China's top legislature, and Yu Zhengsheng as chairman of China's top advisory body.
Zhang was elected as the chairman of the 12th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, at an NPC plenary session on Thursday.
Yu was elected as chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the top advisory body in China, at the fourth plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee on Monday.
