YUSHU - The revised parameter on the earthquake that struck northwest China's Qinghai Province early on Wednesday showed that the quake has shallower epicenter, Qinghai provincial seismological network said Sunday.

According to the provincial network, the depth of the epicenter was 14 kilometers, instead of the previously reported 33 kilometers.

The location of the epicenter was updated to at 33.2 degrees north latitude and 96.6 degrees east longitude, the network said. The epicenter was previously reported to be at 33.1 degrees north and 96.7 degrees east.

The data was revised basing on further statistics collected from more monitoring stations and should be more accurate, said Ma Jianxin, a staff with the provincial network.
