Her upcoming shows will also see a whole new lineup with guitar, piano, cello and violin. She likes a spontaneous show, in which she can mix up and re-imagine new and old songs.

"It's going to be a more mellow and mature way of playing my songs. Hopefully people will go away feeling relaxed and ready for dreaming and sleeping," she says.

"It's such a special moment when the audience and the band are connected like that. I love making people feel good and being present with my fans. And you never know what might happen that will be a one-off crazy moment."

Born to a Czech musician father and an Australian schoolteacher mother, former actress Lenka first stepped into the music scene as a member of the Australian electronic-rock crossover band Decoder Ring for two of its albums.

"I only realized that I wanted to be a musician after having done acting for 10 years and also studying fine arts. It took a while, considering I come from a musical family and learned and performed as a child. I think maybe I was resisting it for some reason, maybe waiting for some level of maturity before I took my chance," she says.

She moved to California in 2007 and a year later released her eponymous debut album, which includes the hit song The Show, featured in the Brad Pitt blockbuster film Moneyball and ads.

Not being ambitious, Lenka says that she is glad to concentrate on her own life and writing music without outside input. Because of the baby, she often starts writing songs in the middle of the night with a phrase or melody rolling in her head. After a few days she sits at the piano to flesh out the song.

"After the tour, I will be a happy housewife and mummy over the Aussie summer, and write some new songs when inspiration hits," she says.
