The 6th World Traditional Wushu Championships kicked off on Sunday in Chizhou city of East China's Anhui province.
More than 2,000 athletes from over 45 countries and regions will participate in the championships, which will end on next Wednesday, organizers said.
The World Traditional Wushu Championships, sponsored by the International Wushu Federation, is currently among the world's largest, and most influential sports events of martial arts.
The championships is held every two years. The previous five editions of this event were held in China's Zhengzhou city, Shiyan city and Huangshan city.
