The base, located in the southern part of Yanjiao national high-tech industrial park in Sanhe, is expected to occupy an area of 20 hectares and will include three major halls, namely, an experience hall, an exhibition hall and a cultural relics storage hall.

Equipped with the world latest equipment and facilities, the center will greatly advance the research and study of Chinese archeology.

At the signing ceremony, Wang Weiguang, president of CASS, showed great gratitude for the support from Sanhe municipal government and hoped the project will be completed on schedule.

Meanwhile, Qin Boyong, vice governor of Hebei Province, said that placing the base in Hebei is a response to the national strategy of coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, but will also enhance Hebei as a strong cultural province.
