Tianjin theater opens new season

The Grand Theater of Wuqing will start a new season of performing arts later this month.

Located in Wuqing district of Tianjin, the Grand Theater of Wuqing, with a seating capacity of nearly 1,500, was first unveiled to the public on Sept 25.

With a nearby museum and a library, it has become the new cultural icon, attracting more than 50,000 people during the National Day holiday week in October.

The season's opening performances will be presented by Beijing Singing and Dancing Troupe and established Peking Opera artists, including Meng Guanglu, Zhao Xiujun and Sun Liying, on Nov 29.
