The official launch ceremony of Europe-China "One Belt One Road" Culture & Tourism Development Committee was held at the China Culture Center in Brussels on April 27, 2016.
The committee, headed by Istvan Ujhelyi, vice-chair of the European Parliament's Transport and Tourism Committee, aims to expand further bilateral cooperation and communication in the field of tourism and cultural aspects of diplomacy, business and politics.
"Cultural tourism, as a rapidly developing industry, will play a great role in Europe-China 'One Belt One Road' cooperation," said Yang Yanyi on the ceremony, the Head of the Chinese Mission to the European Union Ambassador. "The Committee will surely promote the industry and achieve a win-win situation."
Statistics show Europe hosted almost 3.4 million Chinese visitors in 2014. Moreover, there are more and more investments both from Europe and China in tourism, turning it into a key driver of socio-economic progress through the creation of jobs, new businesses, economic growth and infrastructure development.
After the ceremony, guests and officials enjoyed the Contemporary Chinese Ceramics Exhibition themed in "One Belt One Road" at China Culture Center.
