Remembering the Long March

From Oct 1934 to Oct 1936, an 80,000-strong Red Army force walked over 12,500 kilometers on foot to combat the Kuomintang regime, which laid an important foundation for the victory of the CPC.

Trekking over snowy mountains, grasslands and rivers, they finally arrived in Yan'an in Northwest China's Shaanxi province in October 1936, where the new headquarters of CPC was later established. Over three quarters of the soldiers died or were reported missing in the two-year span.
