Along with the development of science and technology, new media are created. The new media, from my perspective, is a relative concept.Every time would be created a new form of media,it is directed for the former generation of media.
Marshall McLuhan who is one of the most famous communication masters, said that, media is messages, each time the significance is not the content from media, but the media itself, and the possibility it created, the history also proved his point of view, every new media, have varying degrees to change people's life
Today, the concept of new media, which is directed to the traditional media such as newspapers, radio and television, are digital TV, electronic publications, multimedia and network technology and so on. The emergence of new media has completely changed the life of people, and it has very strong interaction and immediate feedback, broad coverage and rich information, which is changing people's perception of this world. People are also more and more connected.
New media has also prompted the traditional media reform. The media began to develop towards the group so that a media company can provide a variety of services, of course, this may easily lead to the media monopoly, but the group is a media development trend.
Take the micro-blog, which is one form of new media for example, micro-blog with its characteristics of timely, rapid, convenient, concise communication turns out to be more and more popular. It produced a tremendous effect to the whole society. It forms a network of public domain, people can provide information, share information, access information in this area. Information with the fastest speed cover the public. The micro-blog plays a key role in the network accountability.
However micro-blog also lead to some rumors and lies for its rapid and extensive coverage, but account of the transparent and opening of new media, these rumors would be submerged by the truth and facts, and which is also the best example of "self correction theory" in the new media.
In short, the new media will lead us toward a more open and interactive world.
