The first Brazilian cafe in China, Carioca Cafe, opened Sunday at Sinan Mansions in Shanghai. Coffee lovers in Shanghai will be the first to taste authentic Brazilian coffee.
Carioca Cafe has a history of over 100 years and the coffee served is representative of the best Brazilian coffee. It originates from three farms in Southern Minas Gerais State. The area has an average altitude of 1,200 meters, moderate humidity, abundant mineral elements, pure water resources and is free of pollution. Only the top 5% of Arabica beans can be called Carioca.
Brazil, the largest country in Latin America, is not only home to the Samba, but is also the biggest coffee bean producer and exporter in the world. With a cultivated area of 19,000 square kilometers, Brazil produces and exports coffee beans in a range of prices. Thirty percent of global production and 35 percent of global exports are from Brazil. Many well-known coffee brands, such as ILLY and LAVAZZA, buy coffee beans from Brazil.
