The National Symphony Orchestra of the Gansu Province Song and Dance Theater and National Band of the Xi'an Conservatory of Music will partner to present the symphonic poem Dunhuang.
Created in parts respectively written by Chinese composers Zhao Jiping, Jing Jianshu and Han Lankui, Dunhuang demonstrates the sacred and magnificent cultural and spiritual outlook of the national treasure Dunhuang, an oasis town in Gansu province that hosts myriad ancient relics.
The musical inspirations come from all of the Silk Road's ethnic and folk music relics.
