Taiwan artist T.T. Yen and his wife Yen Hsu Wan-chen opened their joint exhibition on the mainland last week at Beijing's Forest Arts Gallery in the Olympic Park.
Whispers features more than 80 paintings by the couple. It will tour other cities through October.
T.T. Yen's works combine Chinese ink brush and Western oil painting techniques, while his wife's paintings borrow from Japanese painting, which she studied at the National Tokyo University of Arts in Japan.
Born in 1936 in Shanghai, Yen first studied electrical engineering in Taiwan and then turned to painting in his 50s. The couple staged their first exhibition on the mainland in Chongqing municipality in November.
