One-woman art show

Artist Shen Ye’s one-woman show “ Obscure Purposes of Desire” of 30 of her latest oil paintings, and ink on paper drawings has opened at Today Art Museum.

An avid fan of experimental movies Shen draws her inspiration from female protagonists who are often tormented by their materialistic desires and a cruel social reality.

Some of her work deals with such touchy issues as cross-dressing, prostitution, and homosexuality.
