Carla Ambrosio asked for a classical guitar for his fifth birthday and got one.
At the age of 10, after five years of self-teaching, he moved to London to continue his guitar studies and take composition and conducting classes at the Royal College of Music.
In 1970, he began learning the renaissance lute. He's one of the most famous guitar virtuosos in Europe and is known all over the world.
Ambrosio restarted his career in 2003, after retreating from the stage for more than 10 years. He comes to Beijing to perform his From Back to Falla concert at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA).
He will perform works by Manuel de Falla, Benjamin Britten, Mauro Giuliani, William Walton and Bach.
