The Palace Museum and Australia’s National Gallery of Victoria signed a cooperation letter of intent on Sep 16, specifying cooperation plans in several fields such as exhibitions, staff and technology.

According to the plan, the Palace Museum, which is also known as the Forbidden City, will take a special exhibition about Qing Emperor Qianlong to the National Gallery of Victoria in 2015. A series of exchange activities during the term of agreement are also planned.

This is the first time that the Palace Museum signs a cooperation letter of intent with an Australian museum or gallery.

Palace Museum director Shan Jixiang and the National Gallery of Victoria director Tony Ellwood attended the signing ceremony.
