Veteran actors grace Kunqu Opera

Some of the most established Kunqu Opera performers will join two special performances of the Peony Pavilion at Peking University. They include artists in Kunqu Opera companies from Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Co-directed by Wang Shiyu and avant-garde theater director Lin Zhaohua, the Imperial Granary production of Peony Pavilion has had 600 performances since its debut in 2007. It has become a "must-see" on the capital's cultural calendar because of the 600 years of history of both the Kunqu Opera and the Imperial Granary.
