Landscape, Lin Fengmian
A pioneer of fusing Chinese and Western art philosophies, Lin Fengmian mostly produced oil paintings in the early phase of his career. Later he was committed to ink-and-wash, watercolor and opaque paintings. He favored a variety of themes, including fruits, flowers, landscapes, wildlife, fairy tales and ancient maids. He perfectly integrated the concepts of Impressionism and modern art into the landscape of ink painting. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
