Chengdu holds 2017 West China Biological Medicine Conference

The 2017 West China Biological Medicine Conference was held in Chengdu on May 12, bringing Nobel Prize winners, academicians, pharmaceutical institutes and business leaders together to share their views on medical innovation and the development of Chengdu Medical City.

The conference also marked the official launch of three research institutes of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

A signing ceremony was also held to promote cooperation between the Association of Chengdu Talent Development Promotion and the Sichuan Informatics Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Both associations will work as talent support for Chengdu Medical City.

Beginning the process of integrating medical science, treatment and production in 2015, Chengdu Medical City plans to become an international hub for the health industry over the next 10 years.

A total of 5.2 billion yuan ($750 million) will be invested in the Wenjiang district, resulting from 8 projects signed at the conference.
