The opening ceremony of the First Plenary Session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) commenced at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Saturday.
In the next two weeks, top political advisers gathered in Beijing will discuss major political, economic and social issues in the world's most populous nation and second-largest economy.
Fujian members to the national top political advisory body are set to offer in-depth consultations on State affairs.
China has achieved historical accomplishments over the past five years under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with President Xi Jinping as the core, they said, adding that they will fulfill their responsibilities as political advisers on the political consultative platform during their interviews before the opening ceremony.
Cui Yuying, chairman of CPPCC Fujian Committee, a newly elected member of the CPPCC national committee, told the reporters that she is keenly aware of the heavy yet lofty responsibilities she bears, noting that the national committee should give full play to its advantages and poor collective efforts and resources to push ahead with the realizing of the goals proposed during the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress.
Cui's views were echoed by Ruan Shiwei, deputy director of Fujian Provincial Commission of Health and Family Planning, another CPPCC national committee member. “As a CPPCC member in the new era, I will fulfill my missions and duties, and contribute my own efforts and intelligence to Fujian's prosperity” said Ruan.
