Meanwhile, Lai Yinghui, deputy director of Fujian Provincial Bureau of Grain, also a CPPCC member, has long been committed to waving a sound food safety net for local residents.
He said that President Xi Jinping actively advocated and promoted the establishment of a food safety system during his tenure in Fujian, which, for years, has been one of top priorities on the local government agenda.
This year, he is going to submit proposals and suggestions on how to speed up the application of a food safety mechanism.
Xu Xipeng, president of Huaqiao University, also a CPPCC member from the coastal province, revealed that his proposals will primarily focus on the issues of university building, overseas Chinese, as well as the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
