On Oct 26, a mock evaluation has been given to the city of Jinjiang, Fujian province, as the city is on its way to establish a national civilized one. The evaluation committee from the provincial Civilization Office reaffirmed Jinjiang's efforts and results, in a meeting held on Oct 27. The committee also analyzed its limits on urban management. Officials of the local governments attended the meeting.
The committee gave detailed examples and problems during their site inspection including plastic bags in the bushes along the Century Avenue and Tang'an Rd.; no special way for disabled person and special toilet in some public toilets; no hospital guide makes a disordered environment in Jinjiang Hospital.
Jinjiang has made a solid progress in its establishment of civilization after many years of efforts, and has been ranked the provincial civilized city in three consecutive years. It is the first year for Jinjiang to strive for the national civilized city this time.
"There still exist some detailed problems during the inspection, which reflects that we can make more efforts on the environment, traffic order management and market order," Ye Xiangping, executive deputy director of the provincial Civilization Office, said during the meeting.
But effectual measurement and management model should be carried out in a long run to root up some difficult problems in Jinjiang's civilization establishment works, Ye added.
